Sony is Finally Sharing with Marvel

Sony has announced that Spider-Man will be joining the almighty Marvel cinematic universe! After completely flopping it with the Amazing Spider-Man 2, Sony has decided to let Kevin Feige and his lovely team co-produce the next Spider-Man movie which will be called Spectacular Spider-Man AND from what I've heard they are going to let Spidey crawl along side the Avengers. This is good news, right?! Maybe.

Along with this news we found out that they are rebooting Spider-Man and are currently looking for a younger looking actor. Now, I get that they want to reboot it so they can get away from and completely disregard the Amazing Spider-Man movies and all that went on with them BUT we do not need another origin story. We have had one for this generation, we know how he became who he is, we know that great power brings great responsibility. If someone does not know Peter Parkers story by now or they think we need another origin movie please sit them down in front of the Toby McGuire trilogy and make them watch it until their brains rot (it won't take long). We need to move on from the origins and the romance for now, there are so many other stories and villains that we haven't been able to see or see done right. I fully believe that Marvel can make an extraordinary Spider-Man movie, I just would like it to be about something we haven't seen on the big screens yet. The one major pro that I want to make sure no one thinks I'm skipping is that Spidey can join in on the other Marvel movies coming up. This is definitely fantastic news because even though Spider-Man is a bit of a lone wolf he is still a significant part in some Marvel events.

Heres how I would have wanted it to go down:
First, if they were going straight out of the comics it would be Civil War and then Age of Ultron so it's already a little screwed up for how I would have wanted it. In Civil War Spider-Man was still Peter Parker and then in AOU he is Otto Octavious (Doctor Octopus). From what was announced they are doing a Spidey movie in between the two movies, so if they would have went chronologically they could have had Peter Parker in Civil War, the Spidey movie where Octavious takes over Parkers body, and then Age of Ultron where we now have Octavious as Spider-Man. But we can't always get what we want, can we? So instead of it being like the comics like it never is, my wish is that they'd do the same thing but obviously with AOU and Civil War switched. I want to see a new Spider-Man eventually & no more of this lovey dovey crap. I need action and badass, cut throat villains, you know, the ones that knock up your loved ones or maybe even the alien symbiote ones that kill mercilessly. I was so thankful when they killed off Gwen in the last movie AND it was pretty close to the comic. I want more familiar story-lines and some grittiness but that probably won't appeal to everyone. A girl can dream, can't she?

What you think about all the news AND what is your favorite Spider-Man comic?
