Who Do You Think You Are??

We've all heard about the Myers Briggs test and it's 16 personalities. If you're not familiar, it's a test that places you in one of the 16 different personalities. It focuses on the theory that there are five personality aspects, mind (introversion/extraversion) , energy (intuition/sensing) , nature (thinking/feeling), tactics (judging/perceiving), and identity (assertive/turbulent) and everyone is made up of a mixture of those (focusing mainly on the first four). Now, there are a lot of people who think this is bogus and just plain ridiculous which I agree in a way. There aren't 16 personalities, everyone is so different and cannot fit into just one of those. You can't pigeon hole human beings, we are too complex. Also, a person might not be strictly introvert or extrovert but somewhere in the middle. BUT I will say this, if you take this test AND answer truthfully, it will give you a tiny look into who you are. It does make you feel validated and more understood and for that reason, I believe in this test. Not necessarily to define who we are or how we should be but help us feel more understood, which is something we all want.

I took the test a while back and then took it again today and both times I got INTJ. Which means that I am Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, & Judging. This is one of the rarest types not just in general but in women (0.8% of the population), which makes me feel a bit like a freak. When I started reading about this personality I of course started with the introduction and right there they had me hooked. This was me. This is how I constantly felt and thought about things. As I kept reading they have sections on strengths/weaknesses, emotions, friendships, and the more I read the more I felt validated about who I was. There are more people who feel this way? There are actual people who live in their heads more than the real world and who are painfully honest to a point where people avoid them? On top of feeling understood, it brought up points of INTJ weaknesses and made me want to work on them, maybe try to be a bit friendlier with my honesty sometimes, try going out and making a new friend who I would normally label as vapid.

So, in conclusion, is this going to change my life? Definitely not. BUT it does help and I do suggest taking the quiz. It's nice to get to know yourself a bit more. DO NOT use it as people use their zodiac sign, just because you are an INTJ or a pisces does not give you the right to be a dick.

After you take the quiz, if you are comfortable, share your results in the comments down below and how/if you think any of it applies to who you are! I would love to read about it! Click HERE to take the quiz.

If you want to read about my personality, INTJ, and see what a terrible person I sound like here is a link! INTJ
